SECTION 1. METAL, UPKEEP & DESIGN

Where is your jewelry made?

Three Sisters Jewelry is handmade in San Diego, California. All of our designs are cast, personalized and assembled in the USA. We take pride in using recycled metals as well as casting all designs within California.

What metals do you use?

Three Sisters Jewelry uses semi-precious metals - .935 argentium silver, gold-filled and bronze.  We also offer 10K and 14K in rose, yellow and white golds. Gold-filled is a process where 24K pure gold is bonded to a core metal.  Argentium silver contains a higher level of silver than Sterling Silver and is more tarnish resistant. If you prefer a piece that will last forever with little upkeep we recommend 10K or 14K gold

Will bronze and sterling silver tarnish?

Absolutely.  Bronze and sterling silver are an affordable option to 10K and 14K and therefore require upkeep and care.  Tarnishing is inherent with semi precious metals.  Unlike costume jewelry, which is plated and the surface will wear off - sterling silver and bronze will retain their original luster if polished regularly.  Moisture, perfumes, etc. can cause the surface of the metals to turn however a quick wipe with a jewelry polishing cloth can return the original luster within seconds.  For those that prefer endurance or do not want to polish their jewelry we suggest 10K or 14K gold.

How do I care for my personalized jewelry?

It is best to use a soft polishing cloth made especially for jewelry and polish gently.  Do not use jewelry cleaning "dips" as these will erode the surface of the metal and/or stones. Three Sisters Jewelry is not responsible for damage caused by jewelry dips.

When you are not wearing your piece please keep it in an air tight bag - sterling silver and bronze will tarnish quickly when coming into contact with moisture.  Do not wear your necklaces in pools or hot tubs - the harsh chemicals will damage the finish.  In addition - please avoid jewelry coming into contact with acne medications, self tanners and perfume. These chemicals will cause the metals to discolor.

How do I measure chain length?

Chain length is measured by the actual length of the chain - not where it falls on your frame.  For example - to determine where a 16" chain falls, measure a 16" piece of string and loop around your neck to determine where it will fall on your particular frame.  Remember that most charms measure 1" - 2" in length and will add length to the chain.  Please reference our Chain Length Guide for more information.

Are your photographs to scale?

No, our photographs are not to scale. We enlarge the photos so customers can see the details of the charms and understand what they are purchasing. For sizing, please refer to product measurement listed under "Description" on the product page.

What if I order the wrong length?

If you would like to exchange your chain please contact us in writing within seven days of receiving your necklace and we will provide instructions for the exchange.  You will be required to return the chain (and potentially charms) in exchange for the new chain.  Return shipping costs of $10 are assessed on all exchanges. Prepaid return labels are an option for a nominal charge.

Do you cast your own charms?

Our charms are cast/created in Southern California and are the exclusive design of Three Sisters Jewelry.  Our charms are marked with TSD on the back accordingly. We are unable to make our designs without our logo on the back of the charm.

Do you make jewelry for children?

No, our jewelry is intended for adult wear only and is not allowed for children under 15.

I would like to add a charm to my Three Sisters' piece that I've had for several years. Will it match?

If you are attempting to match a design previously created by TSJ, please reach out to customer service prior to placing your order. Our personalization methods and designs have changed over time and we want to ensure your piece is cohesive. As a result, we are unable to guarantee this charm will match a previous design without the assistance of Customer Service prior to placing an order.
